DISTRICT 5
District 5 encompasses much of west side Costa Mesa and is the most diverse district in terms of unique neighborhoods and range of demographics. We have it all in District 5! It includes the neighborhoods west of the 55, bounded by Fairview Park and Wilson street to the north, the Santa Ana River to the west, and Newport Beach to the south. (The cutout right through the middle of District 5 is District 4, which includes the Rea and Pomona school communities.)
The map below shows the current District 5 boundaries, and you can look up your district by address here.

A little more about district elections: The City of Costa Mesa moved to district elections in 2018. In November 2018, Costa Mesa residents chose their first district council members for Districts 3, 4, and 5; and in November 2020, residents elected the first district council members for Districts 1, 2, and 6. Residents elect a citywide mayor every two years. In March 2022, the City Council approved new district lines after an extensive redistricting process to incorporate updated data from the 2020 Census. You can learn more about the redistricting process here. For the upcoming election in November 2022, residents will again elect a mayor and elect or re-elect representatives for Districts 3, 4, and 5 (using the updated district lines).
